Information about the Novarg Virus (a.k.a. mydoom)
Novarg, also known as mydoom, is a new email worm that has been spreading on the Internet and has gained attention. Novarg arrives as an email with one of these subject lines:
- test
- hi
- hello
- Mail Delivery System
- Mail Transaction Failed
- Error
- Status
If you see emails with one of these suspect subject lines and don't know the source, delete them without opening them. The fact that you received the email does *not* mean you're infected.
If your antivirus software alerts you that the file was quarantined, no further action is necessary.
