Student Vaccine POD Workers Pay Related Information and Responsibilities

Attention all Students:

In order to work at the vaccine pod you must have a Social Security Number to be hired and to be paid for your time. Please complete your I-9 form prior to working in the pod and if you do not see an assignment for yourself in SOLAR please email Brittany DeFronzo with the role you have been assigned at the POD. We need to ensure that all students are cleared through HR prior to working at the vaccine pod.

Required Employment Paperwork – I-9 Form

In order to ensure payment to our student workers, students must complete the US Department of Homeland Security Form I-9 to document verification of their identity and authorization to work in the United States. Students must do the following no later than Friday 1/29/2021

  • Complete Section 1 of the I-9 form in its entirety. Write “N/A” in any fields that are not applicable and ensure that no fields in Section 1 are left blank.
  • Review the list of acceptable documents on page 3 of the I-9 form.
  • Bring the required original and unexpired documents to Human Resources, along with your completed 1-9 form.

Human Resources is located on the 5th floor of the main hospital, just across from the side entrance to the Cafeteria.

SUNY Student Assistant Policy (Work Hour Restrictions)

  • The policy limits student assistant employment at all times, including semester breaks and during the summer, to a maximum of 29 hours per week combined across all positions.
  • In most cases, students may not be paid for more than 29 hours in each week running from Thursday through Wednesday to coincide with pay period weeks. However there are some other circumstances, e.g. students on academic probation, international students, graduate students receiving a stipend, which may place further restrictions on hours. Students can view their weekly hours eligibility in SOLAR.
  • Any worked time in excess of the maximum allowable hours will not be paid.

Recording Hours of Work:
