Installing and setting up Cisco AnyConnect for macOS

ATTENTION: Big Sur (macOS 11) Users
Please allow all components of the Cisco AnyConnect System Extensions in order for AnyConnect to function properly.

1. Using Safari (highly recommended), go to https://ciscovpn.stonybrookmedicine.edu
2. At the logon screen, enter your UHMC username and password.  Click on the Continue button.
3. Safari will automatically detect your operating system which may take a minute or longer.
4. When prompted, click Download for macOS.
5. Open your Downloads folder and double-click the AnyConnect DMG file, then launch the PKG installer.
6. Follow the installer prompts until the AnyConnect client is fully installed.
7. Launch the AnyConnect client by going to Finder > Go > Applications > Cisco > Cisco AnyConnect Secure Mobility Client
8. For the first time connecting with the AnyConnect client, enter ciscovpn.stonybrookmedicine.edu in the address field, then log in with your UHMC account.
9. You can disconnect or quit using AnyConnect by clicking on the icon on the menu bar at the top and selecting Disconnect.
